It is easy to forget that 'every' church in Southern Idaho was once a Church Plant. Statistics tell us if we are to continue growing as a fellowship in the Assemblies of God we must plant new churches. In fact, we must plant 2% per year. In our District this means we must plant 5 churches every 4 years to grow as a fellowship.

Let me encourage you to participate in our Church Planting Initiative. This year we have 4 new churches that need our help. I personally know of at least 2 church plants that are in the planning stages for the near future.

Church Planting must become our focus. We can participate in several ways with tremendous benefits. First, we can commit ourselves to reaching unchurched people with the Gospel of Christ. Our focus must be on conversion growth. Second, pray that God will call Church Planters and the core groups to help make them successful. Pray for the Plants in progress that God will send workers and that each church will be successful in reaching new people. Third, plan to join me in giving to New Church Planting. Imagine...500 people across our fellowship in Southern Idaho giving at least $100.00 in 2007...what a tremendous boost and encouragement we could give these churches.

As we participate together God will bless us for our generosity. When churches participate with others or individually 'mother' a new church in their area, God will bless them for their giving spirit and vision.

Thank you in advance for your participation in the Southern Idaho Church Planting Initiative. As we work together we can reach thousands for Christ in the coming years.
